Topping Out: Tavol's New 28,000 m² Steel Workshop

At Tavol Industrial Park in Shandong, the final main girder of our new steel workshop has been lifted into place - a single building of 28,000 square metres. In Chinese construction tradition this is the moment the crane lifts the last beam and the team marks it with red ribbon and ceremony: the point at which a drawing becomes a place where work will happen.

What 28,000 m² actually means for a customer

It is not a bigger office. It is capacity - and capacity is what sits behind a delivery date.

More floor space means steel can be cut, welded and painted in parallel instead of in sequence. More bays mean machines can be assembled side by side. A larger finished-goods and spare-parts area means less waiting for parts, and faster loading when a shipment is booked.

When we quote a delivery time, this is what backs it up: our own workshop, our own equipment, our own team - not a promise relayed from a third-party factory.

The ceremony

Before the girder went up, the team followed the old custom: offerings laid out on the ground, incense, and the beam decorated with red ribbon and the characters for "great" and "beam". Nobody pretends a steel frame needs blessing to stand. The ritual matters for what it says about the people: we take the buildings we put up seriously, and we mark the milestone together.

Same factory - more of it

Every machine Tavol sells - overhead and gantry cranes, hoists, aerial work platforms, forklifts and tractors - is designed and built in our own plants, and has been for 22 years. Adding 28,000 m² of steel workshop is how we intend to keep delivery dates and quality inside our own control as order volumes grow.

To the steelworkers on the platforms, the crane operators, the site engineers and everyone on the ground: thank you. Construction continues - we will share the finished workshop, and the first machines built inside it, when the space is ready.
